How to install on macOS
Use Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, VSCode, Pi, and OpenCode (and 6 other harnesses) for free (1.3B+ free tokens) from your terminal, app, IDE, or phone, and now from the browser with native browser sessions (multi-harness + multi-model) like OpenClaw (voice supported + ToS friendly)
Saved setup from 8 h ago
The maintainers included scripts/install.sh. Run it from the cloned folder after reading it.
bash scripts/install.sh
Also: scripts/install.ps1, scripts/install-muse.ps1
Will it work on my device?
CONTRIBUTING.mdThanks for helping improve Free Claude Code. Keep changes focused, test the behavior you change, and preserve the public Claude Code and Codex workflows.
Changes to assets/, scripts/, src/, pyproject.toml, or uv.lock require a title starting with patch: , minor: , or major: followed by a description. Use exactly one space after the colon.
PRs without changes to those paths must not use a release prefix. Do not edit version numbers. Publishing calculates the version after merge, creates its Git tag, and publishes to PyPI and GitHub Releases.
Install uv, then run directly from the checkout. uv automatically installs the Python version required by the project.
git clone https://github.com/Alishahryar1/free-claude-code.git
cd free-claude-code
uv run fcc-server
Use uv run for Python commands. Do not run the project with a global Python interpreter.
Run the complete local CI sequence before opening a pull request:
./scripts/ci.sh
.\scripts\ci.ps1
Useful iteration flags are --only, --skip, and --dry-run on macOS/Linux, or -Only, -Skip, and -DryRun in PowerShell.
Individual repair and test commands:
uv run ruff format
uv run ruff check --fix
uv run ty check
uv run pytest -v --tb=short
GitHub CI runs Ruff in check-only mode and also bans # type: ignore, # ty: ignore, and legacy annotation workarounds. Fix underlying typing and import-boundary problems instead of suppressing them.
from __future__ import annotations.except TypeError, ValueError:.src/free_claude_code/core/anthropic/ rather than importing utilities from another provider. Then run bash setup.sh. It stops at the first error and is safe to run again. Servers and tests aren't started; it lists them at the end. Read it first.
Needs Git: xcode-select --install
git clone https://github.com/Alishahryar1/free-claude-code.git cd free-claude-code
Python ==3.14.10
brew install uv
uv sync
uv run pytest

Other Chat Completions clients can use FCC's server URL followed by /v1 as their
OpenAI-compatible base URL (default http://127.0.0.1:8082/v1). Select an FCC model
such as gemini/models/gemini-3.5-flash-lite. If Proxy Authentication is enabled,
use its token as the client's API key. Both streaming and JSON replies are supported.
